J.K. Rowling is often asked questions by her fans about her writing process: from where she writes, to her inspiration, editing process and much more.
Just in time for the holidays, Scholastic have released a very special virtual event for all to enjoy. J.K. Rowling is joined by a group of children from across the U.S. for an intimate conversation about the spirit of giving and the meaning of hope, all inspired by her latest book The Christmas Pig.
All five children were nominated by their teachers as super readers and joined J.K. Rowling online from Massachusetts, New York, Indiana, Arizona, and Texas. You can tune in to the free-to-view virtual event as the children ask questions, enjoy a read-aloud, and discuss their hopes and wishes for the holidays.
In the spirit of the book, Scholastic generously donated 100,000 assorted children’s books to 100 Title 1 schools (that’s 1,000 books for 100 different schools) across the U.S. Additionally, the US publisher will donate 10,000 books to Toys for Tots, an organisation whose goal is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate children.
